The inceased use of water based acrylic paints has been a big leap forward from traditional oil based enamel paint. At McRyan we have Enviro Painting Practices Certification using low to zero VOC paints. Many conventional paints contain significant levels of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) which they continue to release into the environment for up to 5 years. The benefit of zero VOC paints is that "when they are dry - they are dry"!

Many period homes hide a range of environmental issues - probably the most common is the existence of lead based paints. The potential health hazards of lead based paints are well documented and McRyan are fully accredited in Lead Based Paint Removal. We utilise the Peelaway system for it's safe removal and a Festool dust extraction system system, featuring HEPA filters, for all our general painting preparation.
